In the Living the 20s Erasmus+ project, we organized our second workshop on 29 November at the Kájoni János Library of Harghita County, in Miercurea Ciuc. The aim of the event was to bring together people of all ages, both young and old, to share interesting stories and to talk.
Thank you to Szakáli Mária, Tőke Magdolna and Kelemen Rozália for coming and telling their childhood stories to the young participants. We are also grateful to teacher Kántor Zsuzsi for bringing her class to the event. She should be proud of her clever and inquisitive students who asked so many interesting questions that the "books" didn't know which one to answer first .
The Human Library method is all about storytellers taking it upon themselves to give themselves and their stories to anyone who is open and interested. A Human Library event works like a regular library - readers borrow a "book" for a short period of time. Once they have read it, they return it and borrow another if they feel like it. But here, the books are people, and they not only talk, but they talk, answer readers' questions, and they can ask questions and even learn themselves. (Source: sokszinusegoktatas.hu)
The project aims to create learning synergies between members of the older and younger generations in the municipalities of the project partners. Following the narrative thread of a fictional character, the project partners organise multicultural and intergenerational workshops that will help both young and old to foster multiculturalism, thus promoting mutual respect.
The project is coordinated by the Harghita Community Development Association. Partners are Ayuntamiento de Purchena and APDI Group from Spain.
